There are really two definitions for Coterminal angles. One stems from the fact that an angle can be drawn two ways: either clockwise or counter-clockwise:
The other is based on the fact that angles repeat every 360 degrees:
Of course, this can lead to confusion from time to time. We have to be aware of the context in which the term 'Coterminal Angle' is used to decipher the correct meaning. Recall that we have to apply context to the superscript '-1':
